So I'm taking some law-related classes. I could get a bachelor's or a master's in pretty much the same thing. Obviously, it's better to get a master's if you already have your bachelor's. But going for the master's would require me to be away from my job for six hours a week for the first semester (one year from now), b/c you have to take two

Keep in mind, it's to their advantage for you to get more education-- you'll be a more valuable employee. And it sounds like they like you, so they also want it for your sake. I hope it works out for you!
