Seriously, man, I'm obsessed but it's an obsession I can't defend intellectually like I can BtVS or Firefly, etc. It's a kink button thing. But the things that bugged me at first somehow became less of an issue as it goes on, because OMG the pretty and the Man Tears and the Daddy issues and the snark and the YES. Plus, cock rock and hot car. *feels shallow* Also, there is a LOT of good fic in this fandom. Much of which is better than the show. *hearts fandom*

Anywhoozle, of course SPN is all about the Faith/Dean, considering that what's I'm writing. ;-) It is also all about the Dean man!pain which is awesome mostly due to the surprisingly excellent comedic timing and dramatic oophm of Jensen Ackles. What's oophm? Um, it's basically bits where Jensen Ackles plays Dean Winchester doing the 'I am the snarky king of the road, no worries hurt me except for [insert most excellent pathos].'

I always rec Farscape as I am legally bound to do so. As a Farscape pimp, I always say these things: They have done everything TV has ever done and done it better most of the time. Also has one of the best TV couples ever and did I mention the leather pants?

Is Farscape the one with the puppets? Puppets wig me, ever since I was little. I saw a puppet and got the wig; there wasn't really a story there.

With LOTR, you have to specify book fandom or movie fandom. Because if the latter, squealing fangirls and hobbit porn. If the former, people who write painstakingly researched gen and obssess over footnotes.

Dude, I didn't even think! Because Stulti's mentioned before how cool Tolkien fen is, but she's of course talking about book people. But I hear "LOTR fandom" and think: hobbit porn! Actually I think LOTRIPS and preternatural obsession with poo, but that's just sad, because Tolkien and me are pals without poo.

Though the LOTR books were some of the very first sources I Mary Sue'ed myself into (I wanted to hook up with Strider. When I found out he was Aragorn I found him far less interesting).

I used to lurk on Tolkien discussion boards in the 1990s. To say I experienced some culture shock when I went to look at communities after the first movie, would be something of an understatement.
