I found you on LJ! Having mutual friends is convenient. I'm happy now. I'm friending you so that I can read the updates on my friends page and keep my ff.net time to a minimum.
I already reviewed this there, but I'll add that I really enjoy your use of their thoughts and quotes from when they first met on the show in this story. (Example: "-you even look...") I think a lot of the time when authors use direct quotes from the show in fics, it doesn't come out that well, but you made it work because it still is how they'd react to each other if they'd met later.
And thank you for your kind review of "Late at Night" on ff.net!
Yeah, totally know what you mean about keeping ff.n time to a minimum. I've been using ff.n forever, knowing that there are better archives and better resources out there, but I hate change, I guess. Faced with the loads of murk at the Buffy section however, I decided I just couldn't take it any more, and should just suck it up and make a move to LJ. I'm still adjusting, but everyone's been so nice, and it seems like ALL the best writers are already over here. Anyway, LJ vs ff.n rant over. There's really no competition.
Thanks for reviewing again ;o) Glad the lines from the show work for you. I find that AUs are easier to swallow that way.
And I loved 'Late at Night'--looking forward to reading more by you, (hopefully on your lj and not at the cess pit ;o)
Oh, and thanks for the friending; I friended you back.
Lovely chapter -- as usual, great character interaction and dialog. I love the bits with Angel being all finicky about shampoo -- he always was vain about his hair! Makes me all warm and pudding-y inside.
a2zmom highly recommended your fics at ff.net. I don't usually go there, but I'm glad you're on her friends list.
I'm really enjoying this, and look forward to reading the rest.
I've always believed that there was something predestined about Buffy and Angel - Whistler or no Whistler. This works perfectly,
I love the idea of Darla being chipped and forced to cooperate, and can well beleive that when her chip started to fail, she'd become dangerous and have to be dusted as opposed to Spike who needed to be around "people" and would adapt to his situation for that purpose.
I'm glad you came by! I've actually always used ff.n. I know it's a perfect cess pit of dead cats, but I'm used to it. I am now, however, trying to free myself of the muck and just shift my entire self over to lj

I feel like there's a kind of predestination with Buffy and Angel not really because of their romance, but because of their unusual circumstances. Buffy is a unique Slayer--if not early on then definitely after S7. Angel is the only vampire in the world with a soul. Just seems to me like they would cross paths.
I absolutely agree. It's one of the things that makes me believe that the B/A relationship will always be set apart from every other romantic pairing involving Buffy or Angel. They were similar in their otherness even after the Chosen One turned into an army. Buffy is still unique among Slayers because she lived and died more than once. Angel is unique because of his soul. Both have suffered from the aspects that make them unique

Fuzzy is good. I love how Willow dressed in later years.
This should be a meme. Which character do you dress like? I'd probably go with Spike, too, as I almost always wear black (it's so easy to wash). And dress the same a lot of the time (does that jacket even ever get washed?)

I especially love your Buffy voice.

Loved the part with Angel wanting silk, etc. Very funny.

Angel and Buffy are actually very similar in their pickyness over their clothes. I find it endlessly amusing, since I could care less.
