Just saw DCI show, which intensified my desire to be in a drump corps. Anyone gots some info on auditioning? I know I'm not ready right now; I'm a total noob, but I want to know what I should practice and stuff. I'm into mallets/pit percussion. I need to compare different corps, but it's hard to really look at them head-to-head, plus, how to

That was so amazingly helpful. Thank you SO MUCH. I am in marching band, and I am planning on consulting with my percussion instructor, because I know she's done corps before. I'm getting some method books for mallets and I've downloaded several mallet exercises/previous audition pieces from several corps websites.
I will most definitely take your advice. I am actually most strongly drawn towards the blue stars right now, because their website kind of stresses that it's a great environment for a first year. I will have to talk to my parents about traveling. Thankfully, the camp's in Indiana (I'm in Pennsylvania), so at least it's driveable.
