Outragiously Delicious

I freakin' love to read. I'd almost rather read than do anything else, which is at once a wonderful and a huge pit-fall. I am referring to the past four days where with pleasure and passion I read five books (that's like one and a quarter books a day) and can hardly admit to doing a whole lot else. It was fantastic. The words of Ursula Le Guin and ( Read more... )

Thats so awesome your reading so much. I'm reading Seek right now. Can I read any of Ursula Le Guins books? Or should I say Ursula Le Queen? http://stat.livejournal.com/img/talk/sm02_wink.gif

Hmm.... You could read the two books I just read - Gifts, and Voices. They're really good, and a good place to start too. I keep discovering more books I haven't read by her in all my different librarys, so that's exciting!

Card tables anonymous January 17 2007, 19:53:04 UTC
Hi Sarah,

Lack of a place to sew is why card talbes were invented. $40 or so at Walmart, maybe even with a chair. (Actually, of course, they were invented to play chess on, which is why the are called card tables, but they work for sewing machines, checkers, eating, and drawing as well. Do not use as a ladder or as a life raft. Plastic chairs are probably more comfortable for reading.)

Your dad, in Palm Springs, CA, waiting for the North American Nature Photographer's Convention to start, where the DC4 will probalby be unfavorably compared to 600mm Canon lenses. I got peanut butter pretzles (the real thing, not the WalMart immitation) at Trader Joes! I bought 3 bags! Oh sorry...that's not about reading.

Hahahahaha....that was funny Dad. :)

Ooo, I forgot to tell you, but I finally located some of Peter Dickinson's older books - some of the mysteries! I'll tell you what I think when I've read one (after I work through my most recent stack of books...!)

I love "A Great and Terrible Beauty," but the sequel, "Rebel Angels," is less good and really freaked me out, actually. It's more of a Fantasy-fantasy novel than the first. Pooh-pooh, I say.

I agree! I was so glad I read Rebel Angels in the daylight, in a house flooded with light, far away from anything dank or dark or creepy. Yikes. I missed the Spence action in that one. English finishing schools hold a horror and fascination to me...! :)
