Yeah, but they'd probably going on break at that point anyway. And if they didn't, they'd just end their season a lot earlier than usual. I bet we'll get a few Office reruns or double 30 Rock eps mixed in there somewhere, too. I'm optimistic that Parks is being given the post-Office slot again. Not that that means much anymore, but that's about the best spot you're going to get on Thursday nights.

True. That's the "glass is half full" way of looking at things. I'd figured there would be the occasional week off to stretch the season. I just didn't think it would be 5 weeks in a row.

Parks gets better ratings before The Office than Up All Night gets after it. That slot doesn't mean much anymore.

No, I don't think it means much either, except maybe in terms of renewal prospects. It seems like a vote of confidence to me, on NBC's part.

It will suck, but there are only a few episodes left and they would have to stretch them out over the rest of the season anyway. This way, when it comes back, we won't have to have like, an episode one week then a rerun the next every time.

I am okay with this. And very, very happy to have Community back.

Yeah, I am happy to see Community again. I guess I just thought Parks would only have an occasional week off instead of a full 5 week hiatus.

I think the full season of 30 Rock is part of this--with 22 episodes, 30 Rock can't take any time off. The Office, despite its declining ratings, is still untouchable by NBC standards. So that leaves Parks, Community, and Up All Night to fill 2 timeslots.

I just hope that NBC does a decent job of advertising Parks and its new timeslot when it comes back on the air. I'll miss Parks at 8:30--Thursdays at 9 is such a logjam for me, but of course Parks takes priority over every other show.

I wish I was surprised, but I'm not. I used to watch Scrubs religiously and it seemed like it was on at a different time every week; NBC's terrible scheduling tactics are nothing new.

NBC has to have some confidence in the show if they are bringing it back for sweeps. Parks has a lot of potential to build an audience. NBC needs to capitalize on it. Maybe this will be a good thing in the long run.

OK, now I'm upset. I thought the season finale would air May 3, but it's actually May 10 and I'll be on a cruise. Unless I can see the finale on the ship, I won't see it till May 12. Dammit! I'm going to miss discussing it with everyone.

I promise, we will still be discussing it two days later.

You'd all better be!

I may try to watch it online the next day. We'll be in port, so the Internet connection should be better. Does it show up on NBC.com or Hulu by Friday?

Yeah, I think it goes up early in the morning.

Ah! I can't decide if I'm miserable about this. I'm super stoked about getting community back but FIVE WEEKS? jesus peaches, two week hiatuses feel like FOREVER. Is that even longer than the winter break was? If so, how will I survive?!

Hiatus Fest 2012, anyone?
