I've been a bad girl and haven't been practicing on my bass. I really have to get back to it. This, of course, implies that I actually get my ass out of bed before noon so I can practice 15 minutes at a time, 3 times a day ( Read more... )

Thanks! Here's hoping all goes well *crossing EVERYTHING*

I grew up in the tropics so heat doesn't bug me too much - but I do prefer higher humidities in general, I can breathe better.

I'm doing the scales mainly to get my hands in condition. It's a bit painful to stretch them that much (small hands, meh) so the scales are more exercise than anything else. That, and building up calluses. I had music lessons as a little girl and I have a decent ear for music, so scales are probably the best thing for me at the moment. I'll try playing by ear once my hands are used to the fretting and plucking/fingering.

The bass is an awesome instrument and I'm kinda sorry I never really got around to learning to play it. Of course, it can still happen some day, but right now I'm a drummer. ;)

Sounds great your MiL is moving out, so you can have the house to yourselves. I hope things improve for you.
And what is that bs about not putting anything into the ground? The ground was meant for growing things.

Hey, I could use a good drummer :p all we need is a lead guitarist, and maybe a rhythm guitarist or keyboard player. We can split vocals as needed ;)

Well, not completely to ourselves, we still have to live with my father-in-law... but it's an improvement!

I know, right? But the homeowner's association rules won't allow it. It could be because of necessary access to fuel tank and sewer lines that cross the yards, or because they don't want to deal with people complaining about the vandals from the other housing sections jumping fences and stealing crops. It doesn't matter why, it's containers or nothing.
