I've been a bad girl and haven't been practicing on my bass. I really have to get back to it. This, of course, implies that I actually get my ass out of bed before noon so I can practice 15 minutes at a time, 3 times a day.
On the positive side of things, MiL got word that they're closing on the house next week. WOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOO!!!! SHE'S LEAVING!!! THANK YOU, ALL YOU GODS!!!
I have to study the basement room she and her hubby are leaving, to best use the space down here. First off, both the computers are moving to that side so I can actually sleep if I go to bed and Chris wants to play Rift half the night.
I'm also moving the bookcases, so the only things in the bedroom will be the bed itself, and clothing storage.
Speaking of the bed, not sure if reclaiming the bed with frame, box and mattress, or keeping the futon bunk. I prefer the latter, really. I want to move it so the top bunk is up against the basement window so the kitties can go up there and look outside.
Speaking of kitties, they're taking Tommy, Oreo and Angel along with the dog. NO MORE BARKING FOR NO REASON!
After they leave we'll be taking Guy to visit the cat shelter(s) so he can tell us who he likes for a new brother or sister. He's kind of grumpy, true, but he's not really the only-cat-in-the-house type, either.
I hope the warm weather continues. We had the windows open this afternoon and it felt so nice to not be smelling cat piss for a while! Oh, yes, that's another project. Once MiL moves out with the crtters and Her Pissyness is gone, we can work on deep-cleaning the carpets. I kinda feel sorry for the old girl, but she keeps peeing behind the curtains or on the linoleum instead of in the litter boxes.
If the warm weather goes on I'll be transplanting the squash and bell pepper seedlings this weekend. I just set some tomatoes and cucumbers to germinate, so that's another round of containers to fill. Here's hoping I can get some straw so I can proceed with my potato project. It's all container gardening because of the limitations set by the homeowner's association here - and what a load of BS that is...
