But if you are still curious about my thoughts on Derek Shepherd (and there are going to be callbacks to quite a few other Grey’s characters, and mentions of other shows), I need to stress: this is my opinion, in ( Read more... )

Honestly, I have no idea if he was fired or if he left himself- truthfully, I think it might be half and half. I know that Shonda is a tough-as-nails boss, but I think she has to be, and frankly, she's earned that right. (I've had issues with her storytelling at times, but she has my total fucking respect as a businesswoman.)

And you, of course, will NEVER be that doctor. You're going to be amazing (you already are). <3

Girl you know me THRU Spartacus so you know I sat here nodding along when you were talking about how it totally changes the way you look at TV deaths. It let me look at his death as part of the story rather than omg my feelings which i so couldnt with Mark and Lexie. I was oddly detatched after watching but it kept me awake last night so I dont know. It must have hit me pretty hard.(drunk post - sorry for typos)

Here is my issue with Mark and Lexie, after the fact. They were killed off in two consecutive episodes (granted, with a summer hiatus between them). Many fans were looking towards a long game happy ending for them, riding off into the sunset. Shonda had set them up numerous times, in numerous ways, sent little shout-outs to the fans JUST BE PATIENT, WE'LL GET THERE, and then...They could have been written out together. That's one gripe.

But Derek's death was GLORIOUS.
