What Would You Do For Love?

I never, ever say this, but...stop writing fic so fast, guys! I can't keep up!

Ugh, this week looks like it's gonna suck too. Haha, aren't you all just cheered up when you stroll by my journal? Doesn't my work know that Porn Battle is going on ( Read more... )

I think what I got out of Blue Valentine--and I saw it at Cannes, so it's not exactly fresh in my mind--is that there's a difference between love and passion. Cindy and Dean had this explosive, who-is-that-person-I-have-to-have-her beginning, and didn't have the time to transition from that into the deeper sort of love that can withstand the everyday drudgery.

There really *was* no in-between in that sense, which I think is realistic considering how rushed and idealistic their marriage was. I don't think they fell out of love so much as I think they didn't know each other well enough to have been in love in the first place.

I'm....going to agree with you there. Well said.

You went to Cannes? That's AWESOME.

Thanks! I wish I'd seen the film more recently. I've been dying to talk about it for months, and now that it's finally been released I feel like I need a refresher course.

I interned through the American Pavilion in 2010. I hope to make it back someday. It was a phenomenal experience.

I haven't seen either movies, so I can't comment, but I do have the same feelings about going to see movies. It's one of my favorite experiences. You can just step out of reality for a few hours and not have to think about anything else. I have the distinct feeling that you and I would get along very well in RL.

Also, I'm sorry it looks like you might have another shit week! *hugs*

I'm settling in for a nice dose of Becky and Luke, so I've got that going for me...

I'm editing this damn J/T fic as we speak, too, so you'll have that to look forward to as well *g*

I went looking for Becky/Luke fic the other. Practically NONE exists. This makes me sad. Actually, it just makes me sad that Becky fic in general doesn't exist.

I have to say...not that it was a very big, overwhelming fandom, but a lot of folks dipped out after the original crew graduated. Which makes me very sad, because Becky and Jess and Vince and Luke? A-May-Zing.

That makes me *pumped*...and I think I might need your help with a fic, some time in the near future...

So completely off topic but oh my goodness, is that Crixus and Naevia in your icon? I finished all of S1 in two days and now I'm completely addicted to this show and this pairing!

YES IT IS, AREN'T THEY AMAZING?

I really hope we get a *teensy* bit of foreshadowing at least in the prequel....It's so long until *real* season 2, and who knows how and when Crixus will find her?

I am such a happy-ending girl. I'm a sucker for angst in the right place, but I am such a happy-ending girl. I hate it when people say that happy endings are impossible.

Also, when people are rude in the movie theater, it makes me want to punch them in the throat.

I LOVE WHEN YOU WANT TO PUNCH PEOPLE IN THE THROAT.

I love that you're not like "oh hannah that's such an overreaction you shouldn't punch people in the throat omg". Instead you SUPPORT MY VIOLENT NATURE.

Hmm, this kind of makes me not wanna see Blue Valentine. You know me, I like the idea of love winning out.

It's a very good movie, but....yeah, you know what I liked CS better. I *know* BV is a better *film*, but *I* liked CS better. (I also like asterisks.)

I kind of wanted to see CS and kind of not. But do you think I'd like CS?

Um...I think you would *like* it, yes. I'm hesitant to say you would love it, because I would feel bad if you wasted your money and didn't.
