Blizzard have optional authenticators for their games, mainly WoW and Starcraft 2 I believe.

They generate a 6 digit code (based on time of generation) which they then decrypt their end with the info they have on that specific authenticator.

Its based on the same Tech the US government use for some of their stuff. Its pretty nifty actually.

you can have multiple wow accounts on a single battle.net ID, and a believe you can attach an authenticator to multiple accounts.

i went insane and attached a black goat of the woods with dynamite, ran away and handed myself into the police. This seemed like a sane thing to do without 4chan there to level me out
