I'm sure all of us are now aware as to what happened to Japan and I'm also sure that we all want to do our fair share to help out. Financially, morally, spiritually, etc. We have the ability to extend our hands in more ways than one. To help on this advocacy, I'll be posting various "support Japan" activities I've seen over the net.

This is actually a very useful post shared by tangiblewhimsy. Instead of using money to donate, you can use your credit card reward points as donation. Capital One and American Express are actually giving out this option for their card users.

Inline with their success with the Haiti earthquake fundraising, arashi_on once again initiated a fundraising activity for Japan earthquake victims. As of March 16, the group was able to raise $13,832 (and is still continously raising). The activity works like a bazaar or marketplace where fans can offer up or "sell" their SERVICES (graphics, translations, subs, etc.) for small amounts. All proceeds will then go into one account (e.g. Red Cross) as donation. JE fans are encouraged to join

Along with the main fundraising activity as stated above, arashi_on initiated yet another fundraising activity by asking fans to sell off their items or goods for a garage sale. Again, this fundraising activity focuses on selling ITEMS / GOODS and not SERVICES.

Fans from the Philippines put up a garage sale for the benefit of Japan's earthquake victims. The group encourages fellow fans to donate and sell off their items/goods during the garage sale. All proceeds will go to Japan (through International/Japan Red Cross). Event will be held on March 10, 2010 from 9AM to 10PM at UP Village, Quezon City,Philippines.

A fundraising event organized by Ongaku Society by organizing a beneficial gig. All proceeds will be donated to Japanese Red Cross Society via Global Giving. The event will be held on April 02, 2011 at Androsia, 58B Timog Avenue (beside The Imperial Palace Hotel), South Triangle, Quezon City. Tickets price is at PhP150, inclusive of one drink.
- Quake Relief Fund for Japan (malaysia_arashi )

Another funraising activity organized by malaysia_arashi. The group aimed to raise RM1500. Proceeds will be donated through the Mercy Team which is going to be deployed to Japan.

A fundraiser spearheaded by UP TomoKai (UP Philippines-Japan Friendship) Club. The group sells "Gambare Nippon" shirt for PhP250. All proceeds will be donated to assist Japan in their earthquake relief and recovery effort. For inquiries/orders you can contact Aura Carbonilla (09277658075) or Shin Turingan (09272906069). Orders should be made ON or BEFORE March 25 and will be RELEASED on March 28.

It is said that in Japan, for one's wish to be fulfilled, one has to fold a thousand paper cranes. This support group aims to do just that. "Cool @ Soul" asks fellow fans to fold paper cranes (origami), take a picture of it and send the photo to them via email.

"Ganbare Nippon Project" is a support group which aims to create a MV of fans holding a "GANBARE" photo. All you have to do is download and print their specially made graphic and take a photo of yourself (or with fans) with the graphic hiding your face (like, place it in front or over your face). You can be creative with the shot.
