37 Weeks

37 weeks and, surprise, sick again. Last weekend was norovirus for the FIFTH time, and this weekend it's a godawful cold. I'm so done with illness and pregnancy.

My midwife is INSISTING on counseling and wants two sessions before I give birth, despite my protestations that I doubt I can get in two visits prior to delivery, and the fact that I can't

The nurse-midwife at Duke wanted me to get a counseling session, too. I didn't have a problem with it, per se, and she was very nice. But she also wasn't standing between me and my labor wishes. And I had the same thought,that you did: "Well, I guess, but is it going to fix anything at this point?"

People and their need to be invited to delivery... Fuuuck that. Duke has an H1N1 ban on visitors at the moment, so I don't have to worry about anyone crawling up my ass. Seems like a shitty fallback to ensure people respect one's space, but hey, I'll take it.
