I think you have every reason to be scared. Those idiots in Washington are playing with people's lives. I think that SS won't be the first things to get affected - they'll likely stop ongoing projects first but if they don't fix this, I'm not sure what will happen.

Forgive me if this offends anyone, but the Republican party is full of idiots, and the Democratic party is full of idiots for trying to compromise with them. My mom depends greatly on her Social Security checks too (not as much as your parents, though) and she's REALLY having a hard time with finaces right now. I try to be as little of a burden as possible, but my job pays very little money. I'm really disgusted by this whole debt-celing thing. Shouldn't the government's main priority be to HELP people and not spend their days in political bullshit war?

PS: I'm not intersted in arguing with anyone about politics. This is an issue I feel strongly about, that's all.

Get on the phone tomorrow and call your senators and representatives, and the white house, and give them hell. If ENOUGH Americans roast their greedy asses, they will back down.
