STARZ close to getting the license for Legend of the Seeker?

I'm all out of the loop these days, but there's some chatter about STARZ possibly getting the license for Legend of the Seeker, and if it goes ahead, that it might be announced at Comic Con this week.

Adding: They're doing Torchwood, and LOTS would fit so well. Pleasepleaseplease let it be true. *crosses, fingers, toes and everything else that can be crossed*

LOTS would be a good counterpoint for Torchwood, since under RTD's direction, as always, Torchwood will probably be pretty angsty and dark. Whereas Seeker could be a little bit lighter fair (ie, the angst is mitigated by the OMG more fluffy stuff).

Oh RTD. Never saw a romance he couldn't wreck in fiction.

I hope it's true. I want the show back so badly.

I'm not sure but I think the contracts of the cast with ABC are still valid, so the reassembling of the cast and crew shouldn't be such a big problem.

We don't know how long they were signed for though, do we? Would they be obligated to return or might they refuse? Wow, can you imagine if they tried to produce it anywhere that wasn't New Zealand?

...Maybe they're hoping to use the rights for a mini series or telemovie or something?

I don't know what they'll do with the rights but I'm thrilled to get anything they offer as long as it's LOTS *desperate and suffering from withdrawal
