Hm.

Why does the rest of the english speaking world get to see Goblet of Fire before Australia?
It's out like, TODAY everywhere else. Except New Zealand, where it's out like, a day earlier than Australia. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE? How is it that NZ gets it before us, just because they made Lord of the Rings is no reason for special ( Read more... )

WORDITY WORD WORD WORD!

EXACTLY!!

And not only that, things are more expensive here than in quite a few other countries. CDs, DVDs, videos, games...all so expensive! Sure, we're all gonna go pay $80 for a game when you can just dl it or borrow it from Blockbuster (or wherever) and copy it.

And that ad.! I saw it again yesterday.

'You wouldn't steal a handbag! You wouldn't steal a TV! You wouldn't steal a car! Downloading films...is stealing.'

And here's the clincher:

'Stealing...is against the law.'

OH, MY GOD, IT IS?! I'd better return that handbag, TV and car I picked up today.

Plus you can see a "film downloading" on the girl's computer in the ad.. Did you see how fast it's going? She must have an unbelievably souped up computer to get a film to download that quickly.

'Stealing ... is against the law.'

OMG R U SERIUOS? I CANOT BELIVE THAT ITS SO NOT KEWL, BUT LIKE, EVERY1 STEELS STUF AND ITZ NOT LEGAL?

By this reasoning, most teenagers should be in jail by now.

Jeeez, this is why I just burn all my shit... ok, I don't have a job, my parents dont give me pocket money, I manage to make $50 winning a competitions designing a LOGO for my school FETE... and I'm going to spend it on a computer game I could just borrow and burn anyway? Yeah. I'll do that. Because who really needs to ya know, eat, and dress themselves, and have a social life, ANYWAY? Honestly.

It's not like I even fritter away all my money anyway... as I said before, most of my fun commodities (ie, music, books, dvds) I either copy/borrow off someone, or get given as a present (xmas and birthday... man, do I save up my wish lists for then! =D ). Usually I spend money on stuff I need for textiles... it's a damn expensive subject!

Hell, I know. Most people should be on to at least their fifth jail term. Including me. *sheepish look*

But come on! We don't have jobs. We want stuff. If we can get stuff easily for free, like we're not going to! Especially when, even if we did have the money, the stuff is painfully expensive anyway.

Eee, textiles, man, I've heard about how pricey that can get :S But I mean, uni! Jesus Christ. The things I've had to buy for that. The textbooks alone are scarily expensive, and on top of that are all the extras, like a lab coat, dissecting kit and the other assorted paraphernalia.

*tears hair out*

So I'm going to keep burning my stuff, thank you very much. (Or Christmas and birthdays, CDs and DVDs are always at the top of the list! Especially with all the Stargate, Doctor Who and House box-sets flying around the place :D )
