Not enough time to do a full report now, but I had a great day today! Obviously misswinterhill was there, and I also met up with in_the_bottle, stuffphile, qthelights, joanne_c, oh_contraire, and a number of other people's whose LJ names I didn't quite catch

The only thing interesting that has happened to me is the earthquake that stuck Adelaide around 11:30 pm last night. the good thing was it only measured 3.8.

I am excited to hear your report! GDL was an unexpected highlight of last year's Dragon*Con for me--I went there primarily for the SGA fandom, before I was even for-real in TW fandom, but ended up going to his panel and was genuinely surprised and pleased with how closely his views of Ianto match up with mine. That NEVER happens when I hear actors talk about their characters.

I'm glad you had a good time and had the chance to meet up with fans! That is my absolute favorite part about cons.

(Well, that and the now-traditional reading aloud of badfic in our hotel when we need to escape being in the presence of that many people XD)

EEEeee! Mary WAS awesome! I've heard she is made of Grade A Awesome in general and at cons! I'm glad that was substantiated.

Wait...GDL was..."tactful" rather than bombed? ::blinks:: Or did he manage to be tactful WHILE bombed?? (I've heard he's apparently attempting to uphold the honour of British actors at cons: "Where's the PUB?" being the central theme.)

I've heard James is also just a total sweetheart and a kind man and I'm glad he was so sweet and genuine with you. < autistic obsessiveness > He's also left-handed.< /autistic obsessiveness >

Glad to hear that you're having a good time.

Gareth effectively says in the latest issue of Torchwood Magazine that he's burned out convention wise and that he's going to concerntrate on other things this year, like getting married. He says "My worry is that the more conventions I go to, the fewer screaming fans there will be" and he probably has a point, so I'm glad he's going to take a break from cons for a while.
