SPOILERS, so I've put it all under the cut.

Amanda Tapping will be busy next year as Sanctuary has been picked up by Sci-Fi, so Sam won't be in charge of Atlantis next season. She will be making guest appearences in 'several episodes'. Pity, as Sam is great as CO of Atlantis, but I can understand Amanda wanting to do Sanctuary.

I'm personally ecstatic that it's Woolsey! Not only does this put the expedition back under civilian control (I bristled so much at the fact that it got militarized, and no one blinked... but maybe that's because Sam was so cool about it ;) I was rooting for Woolsey last year, because you're right, there's so much potential conflict and adjustment that would have to go on. I was actually going to write an AU dealing with Woolsey taking over Weir's duties instead of Sam, because I was so fascinated with the idea. This also works for me.

I've got this sneaking suspicion, I guess more of a niggling than a suspicion, that Porter might wind up a romantic interest for Rodney at some point, now that Katie Brown's (probably) out of the picture. Although a female character without romantic entanglements? Is that even possible for TV to contemplate?

There be many unhappy fans out there, but also many like us who think this is going to be cool! So much conflict, so much opportunity for snark, and hopefully in the end they will all adapt to each other!

Hmm, a new love interest for Rodney? That could be interesting. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think they could announce that Rodney likes coffee in a press release, and someone would be unhappy about it. I honestly can't wait to see where they go with this.

I was hoping it would be Woolsey! :) He's the perfect character to add conflict, yet also be on the general side of good.

As for Carson. This is why I wasn't counting my chickens before they hatched. Five is something though, and I am happy to keep Keller. This should be interesting!

Nice to know I'm not the only one thinking this is a good thing! I'm really looking forward to all the conflict and such like!

Also looking forward to seeing more of Carson, five is better than two in my books! Let's hope we get a season six and maybe even more of him in that!
