Rainbow Lorikeets going to bed.

I thought some of you might enjoy this. I'm sharing it more for the sound than the visual, though you do see the odd lorikeet from time to time.

There is a tree on our back boundry (it's actually our neighbour's tree, but on our fenceline) that the local wild lorikeets have deemed the perfect night spot.

when we drive down to mother in law's there is a stretch of trees along the river where all the lorikeets settle at dusk and we actually can't hear ourselves talking in the car as we drive past. they are SO LOUD!

when i was growing up i had an umbrella tree outside my window, and they would get drunk on the fruit and squabble and fly to settle on the branches and miss... hilarious.

Oh they rise with the dawn, which is about 5.30am at the moment. ;~)
