Okay, so -

I haven't seen BSG yet. Acquiring the episodes takes a while for someone who routinely requires the bandwidth for things other than *cough*illegaltorrents*cough*, so to solace myself, I've been reading everything I can find about the premiere episodes ( Read more... )

I do hope you find your fannish love again, if you want to. It's no fun wallowing in misery when something is beyond sucky, waiting, hoping, that it will one day go back to being your show. (Though, I just went through 4 years of that, and thought that I had almost just about pulled my head waaaaaaaaaaay away from it, only to have the OMG happen and suck me right back in, almost as hard as before. 4 years!)

Anyway, before I begin - if I begin - any of these, I am finishing E&A and Contra. And if the new season of BSG inspires me or allows me to get a grip of what the fuck happened to my pilots, there'll probably be new projects in that direction, too. But other than that, I think I'm wiping my WIP-list clean. If there was anything you wanted me to write before, say so now, before I move along./

I adored Tacit. I would have liked to see more "Five Futures" but I totally understand that your muse has to be in the room.

At least you're having fun with the lad. :->

If I have anything outside the WIPs that I want to complete, it'd be the Five Futures. I love the things I came up with, but I'm so confuzzled about these people and the fucked-up-edness of their current characterisation that I'm seriously in danger of straying OOC in anything I write.

I don't think I'll ever scrap those completely. I'll try and come back to them if S3 gives me anything to work with.

Number one sounds hilarious, but I was hoping for, I don't know, you to suddenly admit you wanted to write Pretender, or Rogue/Pyro, or something. ALAS.

I've actually never seen much Pretender. Is it unforgivable to admit that I don't really watch that much television? As for Rogue, I've written a ton of comic-universe Rogue, Rogue/Gambit and X-men general; some of it is still on my computer somewhere, I think. It's made it hard to adjust to the movieverse, because, to be honest, Rogue in the movies? Wimp. WIMP. And I hate that, because I love Rogue. It's even worse that she shows flashes of non-wimpiness, but never does anything with them.

I don't have many fandoms. But if you give me prompts for X-Men, I'll try 'em.

It's okay, I don't watch much television either, but I used to watch a lot of it five to ten years ago, which was when The Pretender was on. Also La Femme Nikita, and Space: Above and Beyond and the other old shows that still flail me into insensibility.

I dislike movieverse Rogue as well, specifically for those reasons you've mentioned. She shows moments of being awesome, and then pisses me off with being wrong. As I said when I first saw X3, if she were really Rogue, she'd be IN THE BROTHERHOOD, KICKING ARSE AND TAKING NAMES oh and she never would have taken the cure. ARGH. Which is why, within the movieverse, I tend to focus on Rogue after the cure fails, working on the assumption that the cure fails at an hilariously inappropriate time, like during sex with Bobby or something.

Huh. This is funny. I wrote this comment five minutes ago, and got hit in the head by an idea for the moment when Rogue's powers come back, and her slow journey back to being awesome, and I had to go away and jot it down. I love that feeling!

Try as I might, I can't think of any TV I was watching with regularity 10 years ago. Except maybe x-files.

I keep wanting to fanwank exactly what it is Rogue'll be doing when they come back; keep wanting to see it happen at just the right moment to make her the real Rogue, the one who can fly, lift your average DC-10, has a little trouble with the voices in her head, you know the type? And might be a bit worried about not touching people, but lets that slide when there's an opportunity to kick ass.

I have a yen to write this now. I BLAME YOU.

And you've been missed too, Leda! (and now I'll stop using the passive voice ;0))

Short answer: yes, I'm interested! *waves hand*

Longer answer(s): "Djinn" sounds intriguing, though I'm not quite sure what erotic fiction of a supernatural, varyingly kinky bent exactly works out to. :0) But hey, I'll check it out!

And I would love to read fic in the Kushiel world... I really enjoyed the dense plots of that series, though strangely I felt that, for a series built around a courtesan, there was much less sex than I might've expected. (And rather flowery sex, at that!) I think it would be fascinating to see more "muscular" storytelling in that 'verse. Not just talking about having a central male character, either. (I liked Imriel well enough, but he wasn't as compelling as Phedre, IMO ( ... )

'varyingly kinky bent' means I'm pretty wierd in my own head, I guess. I have a few ideas to explore that aren't quite vanilla, you might say, and probably might be found in the 'unusual tastes' department of Honeydukes rather than on the shelves for general consumption.

Oh look, an old fandom! *G* no. No more HP for me.

And Imriel was a kid. I have to admit, I was far more interested in Joscelin and his moral dilemma than most of anything to do with Melisande and her son. Still, they're beautifully written books, and I'm tantalised by the little glimpses of insight into the other houses of the Night Court; with a yen to explore Gentian and Balm and Jasmine and Briony in a little more detail, plus the servants of the other gods. I love a well-develloped history, even if the readers only get to see little snippets of it.

Oh, there'll be BSG. I promise. I actually woke up a little while ago dreaming about fucking pilots, I'm insane. So I'm going off to watch Occupation now. *glees*

Thanks, Indigo!

You're right. I love Kara like air, you see - love her to little bits, but if she can't get a break soon, there'll be nothing left to love. And as for Lee, I'm starting to wonder if there's much in Lee that can really be worth loving? He seems half the time to be playing a role just as much as Kara is, only his mask is the part I like better.

The complete lack of hopefullness in the end of s2 - the slight, SLIGHT hope in Kara/Sam being the only exception - has taken the charm out of the pilot-angst. Before, there was always something to come back to between Kara and Lee, and until I have it explained to me exactly WHY it's gone now, I can only feel its loss. And for a bleak show, such things are even more necessary.

I'm going to watch it, in a few mins, but I think the rosy-coloured tint is completely gone from my otp!goggles. It'll be good, probably excellent, but there won't be any warmth in it now, and that'll smart. Sigh. I miss pilots.

I've actually been really surprised by the amount of negative reviews I've seen regarding the season premiere of BSG. I personally enjoyed it a lot, but I love dark and angst.

If you want... I can see about providing you with up links to the episodes within a couple of days of it showing. Let me know...

I can usually find torrents for them, but I use the 'net a lot, and torrents can take a long time when I'm continually having to pause them to do something else. Still, one per week isn't difficult, and generous offers like yours will certainly help. I have major issues with YSI - my ISP seems to block it, or somesuch, haven't been able to use it in a long time - so any other option is greatly welcome.

I'll have my first review for s3 up within the day, I'd expect.
