I haven't seen BSG yet. Acquiring the episodes takes a while for someone who routinely requires the bandwidth for things other than *cough*illegaltorrents*cough*, so to solace myself, I've been reading everything I can find about the premiere episodes ( Read more... )

Number one sounds hilarious, but I was hoping for, I don't know, you to suddenly admit you wanted to write Pretender, or Rogue/Pyro, or something. ALAS.

I've actually never seen much Pretender. Is it unforgivable to admit that I don't really watch that much television? As for Rogue, I've written a ton of comic-universe Rogue, Rogue/Gambit and X-men general; some of it is still on my computer somewhere, I think. It's made it hard to adjust to the movieverse, because, to be honest, Rogue in the movies? Wimp. WIMP. And I hate that, because I love Rogue. It's even worse that she shows flashes of non-wimpiness, but never does anything with them.

I don't have many fandoms. But if you give me prompts for X-Men, I'll try 'em.

It's okay, I don't watch much television either, but I used to watch a lot of it five to ten years ago, which was when The Pretender was on. Also La Femme Nikita, and Space: Above and Beyond and the other old shows that still flail me into insensibility.

I dislike movieverse Rogue as well, specifically for those reasons you've mentioned. She shows moments of being awesome, and then pisses me off with being wrong. As I said when I first saw X3, if she were really Rogue, she'd be IN THE BROTHERHOOD, KICKING ARSE AND TAKING NAMES oh and she never would have taken the cure. ARGH. Which is why, within the movieverse, I tend to focus on Rogue after the cure fails, working on the assumption that the cure fails at an hilariously inappropriate time, like during sex with Bobby or something.

Huh. This is funny. I wrote this comment five minutes ago, and got hit in the head by an idea for the moment when Rogue's powers come back, and her slow journey back to being awesome, and I had to go away and jot it down. I love that feeling!

Try as I might, I can't think of any TV I was watching with regularity 10 years ago. Except maybe x-files.

I keep wanting to fanwank exactly what it is Rogue'll be doing when they come back; keep wanting to see it happen at just the right moment to make her the real Rogue, the one who can fly, lift your average DC-10, has a little trouble with the voices in her head, you know the type? And might be a bit worried about not touching people, but lets that slide when there's an opportunity to kick ass.

I have a yen to write this now. I BLAME YOU.
