“What is he doing?”

Rodney and Elizabeth were standing on the bridge leading to her office, eyes fixed on John, who was standing on the balcony. He had been there for a few hours now, almost unmoving except for his hair that was flying about in the breeze. Both onlookers were undeniably worried, but it had been Rodney that asked the question.

I'm glad you liked.

I think I am the most exhausted person in the world right now, complete with the necessity to concentrate on keeping my eyes open and an annoying humming in my head and on top of everything, I still have to go to work in half an hour and be alert and able to concentrate and then I'll have to get to the airport somehow to haul my ass home. But I digress...

What I wanted to say was that I truly apologise for all the stupid mistakes and bigger and smaller errors in the text. Weeded out some of them just now, but I am sure there is still tons left.

The overall feel of it still seems to correspond to what I wanted it to be, so all is not lost. The whole subject matter is so surreal to me that i wanted the story to be a bit dreamlike as well. Or at least the defining shifts in the story.

I'm a bit nervous about what Anuna will think about the shrink scene though :P

oww, night work? got some tylenol and... umm, you're a cofee adict eh.. how about a strong black tea?

lol, wasn't that bad. don't recall anything that made me do double takes. I'll let you sandpaper it to your satisfaction before I print it up all prety to keep :)

its a good change to the ep, more more suitedt o John. lol, wormhole travel to another galaxy does kinda invite surealism... ;) sorry, had to say it!

I think she'll like. it actually reminded very much of a conversation we just recently had... you made a more skilled Heightmeyer than I got from the show. *her* I don't think would have gotten through to JOhn at all.

Thanks.

And I am sorry that this put even more strain on your eyes. You are right and the layout definitely needs to change. It's like this only because I needed to choose one quickly when I started the journal and this one just seemed the least offending of the ones I saw first. But now a change has been long overdue for a while. Hearing that people who read my stories actually have to physically suffer will certainly provide the necessary motivation for me to take action...

May I suggest something from flexible squares family? When it comes to layout.

Gosh, this must have been quite a challenge. I think you captured what John would be going through perfectly - the beginning totally got me, when you said he would want to be out of the way and go quietly.

But of course he wouldn't have been able to let go of her, because he loves her more than himself. *sighs*

I guess I made it a bit more of a challenge for myself than it absolutely had to be. But I just didn't see John going on some kind of a farewell tour, I saw him trying to deal with this by himself and every time he tried to get somewhere, it all came back to Elizabeth again and he ended up just overflowing with it all.

Thank you for reading. What did you think of the Heightmeyer encounter?

I liked that part a lot. I like the fact that you didn't write her the usual way - warm smile, compassionate words. You created a person, not a cliche.

Plus you inspired me how to write sparky through her eyes.

I don't think there'd be much point in having a kindergarten-teacher style psychologist on Atlantis. What these people are constantly going through is so out of left field that I doubt that kind of a shrink would get through to them at all. Unless all the mellow talk and warmth is meant to lull them into hypnosis or something.

The Heightmeyer on the show is acting as if all the shit that is happening in Atlantis isn't happening to her herself at all. I see that kind of attitude robbing her of all credibility in the eyes of these people.

Then again, I don't know much about how a psychologist is supposed to act. That's why I was interested in your opinion.
