Icelandic Online (university of iceland)

Hi,

I started trying these modules, and I'm having trouble because absolutely nothing is in English. Some things are logical to figure out (like hi, how are you?) but as it goes on, I have no clue what people are saying. Am I missing something? Any tips for working through this?

questions and requests, icelandic

I'm using Icelandic online as a part of my basic course in Icelandic at my uni. If there's anything I can do to help or if you want someone to rage about it with, I'm here :D

I also didn't like the course much, but it's better than it used to be... I used to just use the dictionary on everything. If you actually take classes in Iceland it's most likely also like this, "everything is in Icelandic from the very beginning", they just like to teach that way. It's probably best at first to talk to other people who are a bit further than you and ask them questions.

That being said, I've gone through most of the course a few times now, so you can ask me about any questions too, even if you have to send twenty messages a day along with screencaps! Or you can make a lot of posts on this community with screencaps and stuff underlined for example. This community is just for stuff like that, so don't worry about spamming us up.
