Today has been one of those days where right from the beginning I had a list of things that I wanted to write about here.  Not for any particular reason though, just because there are several ideas tickling my mind that I want to share.  :D

The 20's dress in mauve is gorgeous. I also really like the princess cut one. I wore a dress to dinner every night on my two cruises and my hubby wore a jacket. On the two formal nights, he wore a suit and tie and I wore a beaded bodice dress--not long, but definitely fancier. Some people showed up in tuxedos and cocktail dresses. Some people showed up in jersey t-shirt dresses and flip flops and the guy managed to put on jeans instead of shorts. There were all kinds. Hubby and I were about in the middle.

That 20's dress is pretty, and I could take some inspiration from Laura of PR fame and do black lace on white fabric. The drop waist though hits me at my widest spot.

Your dress sounds pretty! Thanks for the heads up on what to expect from everyone else. I think I'll dress up because I don't often get a chance to do that. So did you enjoy your cruise? Which cruise line were you on and where did you go?

I like the second and third choices, although choice #3 is winning. I just love wrap dresses! (And you know this! ;D )

Yeah, I'm leaning towards #3 in maybe a taffeta or something. Once I pick patterns, I'll have to decide on fabrics.

I like #3 the best! #5 is pretty too - I may be influenced by the fact that it would make me look like a rectangle with hands and feet. :)

Are you referring to the 20s style dress? The idea of those dresses is to look like a box. That's my problem, I'm more like a de-formed watermelon. :D

Well, I have no idea what you look like in RL but I like patterns #3 and #4. I definitely don't think they'd be too casual, depending on your fabric choice. And remember you can easily dress things up on holiday with shoes, bag, jewellery and stuff like that. Knitted fabrics are easier to pack too. I'm very jealous - not of the cruise but of the sewing opportunity!

I'm surprised that everyone really likes four. I think what I'll do is get the patterns for 3, 4 and 5, if possible make all three, and then wear the two that came out best. That may be too expensive though to be feasible. We'll see. :D Oh, and I only began to look at patterns. I should keep looking!
