My dog Louie died this morning. He lived in our fenced in yard, and somehow managed to open the gate this morning. He was only out for about an hour. I knew something was wrong when Foxy (my other dog) returned without him. They were never apart. We found his little body beside the road, about a quarter of a mile from our house

oh my goodness! a hit and run? I'm so so sorry for you and your other doggie. I can't imagine how hard that must be. :(

Thanks for your kind words. Foxy Cleopatra is doing great now, and likes being the center of attention. Once in a while, she will look for him in the yard and then remember he is gone, and start moping around.

I'm so sorry. I lost my dog Buddy in a similar way, when he dug under our fence and got out.

Yep, it stinks. I brought Foxy inside and she will never be an outside dog again. Its a new experience to have a huge german shepard/husky mix dog in the house all the time, but we are adjusting nicely.
