There's a museum called the Borghese with a lot of Bernini's work - I can't quite remember if it was in Florence or Rome, but it's well worth seeing.

Italy is beautiful, everyone is nice, and it's just an awesome place to be. Have fun!

EEE! You are awesome hun! I almost forgot you guys spent Wintersession in Florence! I will DEFINATELY check those out! Do you remember the name of the leather market by the by? I have no idea what I would buy there, but I totally want to look!

Alas! PJ just went back to Florence for a day (he and Ganeash went to Sienna for a week a month ago) and he said the Boboloni place was closed for renovations..perhaps it will be open by the time we get there, you both make me drool with your descriptions of those delicious lil things!

I was there just this weekend!

The leather market is located near the Cappelle Medicee, that are worth a visit by themselves.
If you have the time go to see Palazzo Pitti and its art gallery, which is inside the old royal apartments. the gardens of the Palace are the notorious "Giardino di Boboli", that ends on the Belvedere which gives a very beautiful view of the city.

Besides the Duomo, also the church of Santa Croce is very beautiful.

An advice: queues for the museums can be very long, especially during the weekend and on national holidays, so it is beter to make a reservation. Yu can do it online here: http://www.b-ticket.com/b-ticket/Uffizi/default.aspx

and here are some informations on the Museums in Florence:

I've never been to Florence, but do read A Room with a View by E.M. Forster before you go. I LOVE that book. The movie is not too shabby either.
