Gmail has this nifty widget that is basically an email version of a drunk-dial-preventer. You can set it so that between certain times on certain days, in order to send an email, you have to answer some basic math questions

Huh, I must have turned that off because I send e-mails whenever I have insomnia and I've never gotten the math problems. Although I can't seem to convince Google that yes, I want my search results unfiltered...

The widget is in "Settings" under "Labs". It's something they're messing around with. :)

As for search results being unfiltered, I don't know that I can help. My computer likes to forget settings sometimes too.
