Yeah, Doumeki has done everything but tatoo "mine" on Watanuki's forehead, no way he was letting some ghosti-come-lately (kaonashi, maybe?) steal Watanuki. It's a shame he can't tell that to own Watanuki, body and soul, you just have to tell him he means that much to you
