Yeah, Doumeki has done everything but tatoo "mine" on Watanuki's forehead, no way he was letting some ghosti-come-lately (kaonashi, maybe?) steal Watanuki. It's a shame he can't tell that to own Watanuki, body and soul, you just have to tell him he means that much to you.
Doumeki probably knows the hydrangea would have eaten Watanuki whenever they came, and that Watanuki damned lucky to have someone there to help, and that one of these days the odd are going to catch up with him. And if he doesn't want that he'll have to bind Watanuki tighter, eat lunch and do club paperwork and walk with a girl who can't possibly be stringing Watanuki along by accident, he'll do it. God, Watanuki was half dead in his arms that day, and after the camera faded out he still had the job of carrying his friend's body down the street and listen to the breath bubble in his chest when he got home. But now, he can't tell if Watanuki will ever so much as smile at him again, not that he smiles /at/ Doumeki, but Watanuki's smiles for Himawari are usually big enough for everyone. So take him back and give him to Yuuko so he won't wake up looking at a face he hates and wait for tomorrow.
