They think the inhaler is a high tech paperbag? Which I think is a good think to breath into during a panic attack, but I could be wrong.

IIRC, paper bags are for hyperventilation? The way I learned it was that hyperventilation resulted in too much oxygen, so you breathe into a paper bag to help regulate the amount of oxygen you're getting.

Inhalers deliver a measured dose of (normally) steroids; someone having an asthma attack is having their breathing passages close over, and the steroids widens their airway and allows them to breathe. This is going to have absolutely no affect on someone having a panic attack because their airways aren't constricted and therefore the steroids aren't going to do anything.

socchan is right, paper bags are for hyperventilation, which is different to a panic attack.

So in a way, you could kinda consider the Kirk family the Star Trek equivalent of the Adams family. They kinda occasionally try to blend in, but really just have fun being themselves.
