1. So in Teen Wolf, only Alphas can give the bite, which, okay fine. But why in fic do people have Derek chewing on Stiles like a rawhide? Sometimes they specify that 'he almost draws blood' or that he does break the skin, and half the time they specify that he's wolfed out, so it's not that he's in his human form or whatever. I've read so much fic over the past few weeks that I'm starting to confuse fandom and canon, and I can't remember whether it was a fandom thing that the Alpha needs permission or intent or something before the bite takes..? Either way, there are so many inconsistencies in just about everything ever written about this show that I don't even know anymore. Thinking on it too hard hurts my brain. I'm just here for the Stiles. :p

well it can't be permission, because otherwise first season's down the drain. Intent, maybe, but then .... I'm confused! Obviously it must be something that the Alpha produces, but it can't be there all the time because then you'd be ground zero for werewolf infections. Like, you couldn't bone, you definitely couldn't kiss, it would be like, like being HIV positive. So there's got to be some method of conscious control.

Great now I just implied poor Derek is HIV-positive. WELL DONE, SELF.

I think I like my theory that it's some sort of venom only alphas produce in their fangs.

I feel like this is something I can get to the bottom of after 654732 more viewings.

I always associate WWI with Wilfred Owen because I wrote a paper on him for a college class. Well, that and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, because it struck me that a little more security and caution could have prevented his and his wife's death. Then again, the war probably would have happened after some other incident anyway, since Europe was essentially a powder keg with a short fuse at the time, but still.
