in my continuing, insane quest for more readable fic, I found a short angsty Kirk/Bones fic, where, no lie, Bones is all angsty and shit because he can't see Joanna any more, and I am not making this up, because Jocelyn has told her that Bones is dead.

A lot of people want to 'fix' the 'problems' in canon, and besides that, HOW COULD ANYONE NOT FORGIVE BONES ALL HIS FAULTS HE IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN AND I WANT ONE.

I was just "...." and wandered off because my brain was distracted. Not sure if it was before or after I read the Kirk/Spock fic with the depressing ending, but either way, it didn't help.

Now, see, if *Joanna* had said "I hate you Dad, you're dead to me", I would totally believe Bones falling apart. But Jocelyn? Oh hell no.

Weeeellll, he does seem to have conceded her the whole planet just on her say-so...

:D But yeah, I suspect "you told my kid I'm dead" is a whole other order of magnitude no matter how little stand-up-to-her-declarations he seems to have on occasion.
