I really want to join the party and write Kirk/Spock from ST Reboot but I haven't seen the movie (either too broke, too tired, or the thought of going to a mall made me go under the bed and glare out, making ominous hissy noises like a tea kettle) and, well. I did force Becky to start playing Pokeymans! I am variously avenged

Your L-bomb project idea is swell. I've been annoyed for a while by the allergic rash reaction to any sign of the L-word, considering that uhh many beings who love really do use it--even male humans!--so avoiding it at all costs in fiction (whether slash or whatever) conversely becomes hilariously unnatural and contrived. Esp. if the author has already done a good job of demonstrating that the love is there.
Then again in some situations it really would be overkill. I tend to feel I have to avoid it in my fic because my fic is usu. so grossly waffy to begin with that the characters are already oozing mutual affection from their very pores.

lurking. waiting for you. XD
But seriously. I think this fandom has a similar problem that the Highlander fandom had with soulbonds. I actually haven't come across THAT many stories where Kirk suddenly feels the need to declare his undying and woobly love for Spock/McCoy/Checkov/Uhura/Enterprise/Everyone. Or even that many stories where Spock is suddenly overcome by all these new feeeeeeelings and the need for sexytimes. What I do see a metric buttload of is: stories about how Spock mindmelds with Kirk/Uhura/McCoy for some contrived reason and suddenly their BONDED4LIFE 4 REALZ ( ... )

I was going to suggest Arashi for it as well, but they probably tell each other that all the time anyway. And Nino going around professing his love for Matsumoto in order to freak him the fuck out and then laughing about it really isn't the same.
I would, however, totally approve of Shinkumi l-bombs.
