I saw it tonight, and agree with a lot of what you said. I giggled like a schoolgirl when Skinner and Mulder were manloving on each other.

But, I actually enjoyed it. I guess because I've been so deprived of XF stuff, anything seemed good. Plus, I loved that Scully still drove a Ford Taurus, even after they've left the FBI and the world of rental cars. And that the names in Mulder's cell phone were actually executive producers of the TV Show.

Hated the scene during the credits though. And the ending, with no closure whatsoever. For a 2 hours movie, I needed more of a resolution.

Ahh! There was a scene during the credits? We totally didn't stay for that! Damn. I am SO not going back just for that. Hopefully someone will put it on Youtube.

I guess I wasn't ready to be impressed, since I spent seasons 8 and 9 following along on Television Without Pity and hating Chris Carter more and more with each episode. I'm really glad you enjoyed it, though. I really wanted to be able to. I did (and do) love the show.

And that the names in Mulder's cell phone were actually executive producers of the TV Show.

One of the locations they go to, I think it was a hospital, was named "Manners Memorial Hospital" or whatever it was. Kim Manners being the director from the TV show (yay!). I noticed that one, so I figured the names on the cell phone were significant, I just didn't recognize them. It was nice of them to give people from the show recognition.

I'm gonna have to find a torrent and start downloading all the episodes...

That's true. If it had been an episode they might have had to edit out various iterations of that stupid conversation. On the other hand, I have the sinking feeling that Chris Carter would have chosen to edit out some of the plot instead. Because he's a hack.

SRSLY! ALIENS! God. Also, dude, I totally wanted to scream at the screen that Samantha *isn't fucking dead*, she's fucking *starlight*. They made us watch the damn episode. The least they could do is suffer through the memory with us.

Of COURSE they're all women! Damn, I'm amazed I didn't think of that, but it explains so much. Mutilating men just isn't exciting enough for males 18-34. But abusing women is just what movies *do*. (Still doesn't explain why a gay man would want a woman's body. Unless that's the way Chris Carter understands gayness, as seekritly wanting to be a woman. Have I mentioned he's a hack?)

I'm overwhelmingly glad I missed the tropical island crap. For some reason that just makes it so much worse. Listen up, Mulder! The aliens are ( ... )
