I'm not sure refined people are actually better: they're just less coarse, like refined grains. As it so happens, the coarse parts of the grain happen to contain a lot of beneficial nutrients and dietary fiber.

What type of yoga are you doing?

Hmmm. But the connotations are still opposite.

I am going to a Dahn yoga center, which is a version of yoga that started in Korea, but they have a bunch of centers in the US too, including Harvard Square, apparently. Julia has a lifetime membership, which means she can go for free anywhere else in the world. (Except Japan. In Japan you still have to pay half price. Not sure why....)

I suppose that they have opposite connotations now, but that wasn't always the case. People used to think that refined grains were better, because the coarse bits had been removed. It wasn't until recently that people figured out that there was nutritional value being discarded by the refinement process.

I prefer unrefined people AND unrefined grains.

hmm. . .maybe the grains went to a refinery? (which don't help with the healthiness of the product?)

English is all over the place sometimes, maybe there are different roots somewhere in those words. . .

I need to do me some yoga as well! I always feel so good when practicing it :)
