Oh my gosh, I cannot believe how gorgeous it was today. I was bird-in-the-sky happy. My coworkers were like, Can you bottle some of that and give it to us? The English speech contest started today, and I was judging the first graders. Man, first graders are cute ( Read more... )

For logging your food, I suggest My Fitness Pal - http://myfitnesspal.com
For running a 5k I suggest Couch to 5K - http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

Thank you! I knew about Couch to 5k (I am using a modified version of their program), but I didn't know about the food logs. I always have a hard time finding Korean foods on calorie logs, though...

Claire, you are a big part of my inspiration. I hope you know that.

Yeah I thought the Korean food might be a problem.
One nice things about this site is you can add recipes, which is a pain the first time, but if you eat the same things a lot you can just say you had one serving of such-and-such instead of typing in like .25 cup of onion, 1 tbsp olive oil and so one.

You can also add food to the database, so if there are Korean foods that aren't there, you can add them and then they'll be there in the future.

...

It is weird to be an inspiration to people.

Seconded on couch to 5k. Last summer when I started running I just ran every day so when I finished one week-I went on to the next. I was running the 5k in about 3 weeks. If you are in decent shape, it is totally do-able. I do recommend at least a day off a week. Don't over do it the way I did. Because then you wind up with mad shin splints.

Congrats on starting the exercise program, but thought I'd point out that you aren't overweight or close to it! I bet the wedding dress will look beautiful.

I agree. You look pretty scrawny to me. Remember when we were in college and there was that gal who took down all the mirrors in her house? I thought that was brilliant. However, I think that feeling internally like you should get better is a good thing. I suggest that you pick a handful of standby meals that you get really good at, figure out those calories and make them often, subbing different meat/veggies. Maybe try one new recipe per week. I love variety, but it's difficult to manage. Just enough variety.

I've wanted to try that couch potato thing myself!

Thanks guys! Yeah, I don't think I am overweight either, I would just rather the weight be redistributed as muscle. Also, I don't want to get sick all the time anymore, and I don't want to be tired and snappy. Exercising seems to alleviate all those issues.

As it turns out, I have a bigger issue with my wedding dress than with my body...(check your email).

Thanks, sol!!

I wish you could come, but I do realize that the other side of the world is kind of far away.

Be well!

Love,
