I came out to my eleven-year-old brother today.

I had been concerned about him, because he had been disgustedly referring to "homo" and "gay" people, and I decided that he needed to know a queer person whom he also respected ( Read more... )

Oh my gosh, that entry was HILARIOUS!!!!!!

Although. John also disapproves of the way I shave my legs (or don't), the "d-word", going to church, people who don't believe in God, ANYONE having sex EVER, people in general....yeah, I wouldn't mind TOO much...

Fear not. GAH. I just got back from ONE day, and my whole friends page is full, I had to go to previous entries...

Well, John has been attempting to controll Elena's sex life for the past 5 years. He is very particular about who she can visit and kiss and where kisses should be.

The boy has been "in love" with one gal since he was six. He is quite upset at the awareness that he has hormones and that those hormones could possibly get in the way of his relationship with this girl. That *GASP* there MIGHT be OTHER people in the world besides her.

Remember when John decided he liked my ex (when we were still dating)? He chatted with poor Charles for about five minutes then declared, "I like you Charles. When are you and Liz going to get married and start kidding, so that I can be an uncle?"

Sheesh.

Middle school sucks. That building, in particular, is some sort of orange hell on Earth. I still can't walk in there without being afraid that I will have to lose recess and throw away my lunch. The sheer crabbiness of everyone there is amazing.

For the record...I don't know Johnny, but I have a feeling the deeper workings of my own life would horrify him. Furthermore, he will come around in due time. My friend, who is quite gay, has a 11 year old sister who absolutely adores her and could care less if she dated women, men, Satan, or Stan. Time heals all, but I think that letting him come to his own conclusions is probably best. I think he'll choose family over alienation. And, though it was semi-amusing, i can definately see the deeper ramifications of this encounter. Good for you, Layna. Good for you.
