We are at my ILs' house - they are in FL, so we are here alone. My little angel is asleep on their guestroom bed (he was very overtired & melting down so I couldn't stomach putting him in the PNP & letting him CIO, so I held him & he fell asleep in my arms on the bed in about 30 seconds flat. Rob brought me a cup of tea & I thought I'd do some ( Read more... )

I am impressed that he sat through the cleaning - I am soooo nervous to take Nelia! He is a bit older though. I keep hearing that I should take Nelia (or I should have when she turned 1), but I just haven't made an appt because I am pretty sure she is going to hate it, lol:)

Jake didn't go for the first time until he was 2.5! Of course, he didn't have a single tooth until 13m. Leo is going in Feb but only b/c Jake has an appt too so I figured why not.

oh, there's no rush. We didnt' take C in for her first appt until she was 3.5 actually... and we only brought H now because C's dentist suggested we bring him in around 2 just so they could take a peek and have him start feeling comfortable in their office. I don't think you need to contemplate it until she's between 2 - 3 yrs old, for sure.

Fun! We've hit just about every train garden in a 20 mile radius this year. The kids love them. H looks so cute in that big dentist's chair--love him in hats :) Leo's 1st dentist appt is in February and really only b/c Jake has one too...that should be fun!

He did great! Especially for a 2 year old (right?). Wow! Good for him. I don't tend to expect anything from kids until at least 4!

I was thinking about you the whole time! :) the dentist was really good... she actually came out to us in the waiting room first, while H was playing, and explained that she would basically just take her cues from him, and if he was receptive she would keep going, but if he was uncomfortable/freaked out she would just spend the appt chatting with us about general dental hygiene with young kids, etc... and he was a little superstar! she had a great bedside manner though, and I think that made a difference. and he LOVES brushing his teeth - seriously, if we pass by the bathroom he starts going "tooth! tooth!" and insists on going in to "brush" ;)
