I began teaching within the school district that I grew up attending, and it is amazing how it has transformed my life. Does that sound too dramatic? Perhaps so, but I come home from work now with a smile, mostly positive things to share about my day, and I wake up each morning eager to begin it. Best of all, I have a more regular paycheck again. I wonder at what point my teachers who were classmates with my dad started thinking they were old. Perhaps not 1st grade ... but certainly by 12th.

Mrs. Augusta was my teacher too! We really need to meet up and catch up...I actually have a new guy in my life.

My mom subs through Birch Grove, she is only comfortable with the younger kids. That is great that you are getting so much work! I'm massively happy for you.

I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Are you going to try for summer school? I don't even know, CAN subs?

I don't even know if I can sub for summer school, good question. I would assume summer school teachers get sick too, right? I'll have to ask around.

Fortunately I have mostly good memories with my school system. I am really happy to see that the primary and intermediate schools at least have kept up a really positive environment. i've been teaching in a few other school systems as well, and some are really chaotic and not very pretty a lot of the times. A good teacher really makes a difference, I can tell by the different classrooms.
