I began teaching within the school district that I grew up attending, and it is amazing how it has transformed my life. Does that sound too dramatic? Perhaps so, but I come home from work now with a smile, mostly positive things to share about my day, and I wake up each morning eager to begin it. Best of all, I have a more regular paycheck again. How strange does it feel to come from my first day as a substitute teacher and not call him? He would get a kick out of the fact that after one of the girls told me her older brother had a girlfriend, one of my kindergarten boys told me he had a girlfriend too.
