1. I have been hired to do something.  They have not paid me yet, but they do have my social security number, and that's something.  I went to the office to fill out a lot of paperwork today and the HR girl who was having me do it had only been hired last week.  She was explaining some of the forms I had to sign, but she was getting them ( Read more... )

I'm waiting for a job-related phone call, and the wait is killing me.  When I left the interview a week ago, I was pretty confident I'd gotten the job.  Now I'm completely freaking out.  But they're supposed to call me by the end of the week and they're supposed to call me whether I get it or not, so . . . .

I just really want to be employed.

After I'd accepted job 2 and turned down job 1, this morning the lady from job 2 called back and REVOKED HER OFFER.  I get it, it's legal.  But man, is it rude.  I'd like to think that I've experienced something ruder, but honestly I don't think I have.  Maybe the betrayal of a friend or something, but that hasn't happened since elementary school ( ( Read more... )

I got offered a job!  No, I got offered TWO jobs, and I turned one down (they were at the same time).  It's only part time--if I work the maximum number of hours, I will definitely be able to pay my rent, but of course I have to be prepared for fewer hours, too.  So I'm still looking for another job.  In fact, I have another interview next week.  ( Read more... )

I actually really loved writing, once.  But then all my creativity went into costuming.  I wouldn't say it's less work or anything (writing always seemed like a lot of work), but that I put in the time and saw results, and now it's easier to put the time into costuming than it is into writing.
