*points to self* That chart would be very handy indeed.
I've only seen The Birds (it was in English class - I think we read the short story so we decided to see them film also), but I really want to see Psycho.
You will have a copy when I'm done, most definitely!
I enjoyed Psycho, but I keep thinking they'll be scarier. I suppose scary back then was suspenseful whereas today is "Hey, let's shove as much blood and gore into this as we can! Plot? Character development? Pffft, who needs that when we can make films like Jeepers Creepers and Cabin Fever?" I like the older ones best. I can't handle gory-scary.
Ooh, I HATE gory-scary. Unless it's Lord of the Rings, because the blood's all black and doesn't look like gore. :D
The Birds was scary to me despite the lack of blood because of all the suspense, really. Old movies were so awesome at timing, atmosphere and the overall effect rather than the full-on blood-and-guts thing. I think I'm just grossed out by that.
Ugh, I hate gore. And anything with knives. I cannot watch anything with the slashing and stabbing noises. I can handle LoTR gore fine, it's more people-gore I can't stomach.
I had to turn off the tv somewhere after Cathy(?)'s birthday party, I was exhausted. I'll have to actually rent it someday and finish it.
*after a seagull hit the door* Oh, poor thing, it must have lost its way in the dark. Melanie: No it didn't, Annie. It's not dark, it's a full moon. *they stare at each other* Duh duh duuuuuuh! Foreshadowing!
