I was playing my little game again, whereby I listen to a song twice and write a drabble while I do so. I have to finish it within those two plays, and while editing is allowed, adding anything substantial is not. Therefore, I present you with the following (I've even uploaded the songs):

'Booty Call' is so funny, with so many wonderful lines, like it being unfortunate for Sanzo (but not for Gojyo) that he was miles away and the last line about how now Sanzo could neither get back to sleep nor call Gojyo back!

'Apples' was gorgeous - I like how you've put your own spin on the Howl/Sophie pairing, keeping to the feel of HMC but making it something new. (Because, sadly, I doubt we are ever going to get a totally shippy moment like that in canon. DWJ tends to opt for the implied romances, in my experience.) Howl using the climb as a metaphor for their relationship was sweet, too.

I don't even read Saiyuki and 'Booty Call' made my day. Now I have to add it to my To Read list, just so I can come back to this and laugh my ass off with some background knowledge. XD

You should totally read Saiyuki. I think you'd really like it. There are hot boys, an epic plot, and a lot of angst. Sanzo is my favouritest, but if the blonde, sexy, gun-totin', cigarette-smokin' priest doesn't do it for you, then there's always Gojyo, Hakkai and Kougaji in the wings being sexy. :p

I suspect my Sophie and Howl are a little different to canon Sophie and Howl, but I can't help it. :p I think it might partly be because I saw the movie first, so that's sort of stuck in my brain, even though I've read the book. Damn these authors and thier implied romances...
