Hello Long-Lost Readers.

I've been shameful about updating my livejournal.  More than normal.  Although I will have you know that I read all of your posts - even if I rarely comment.  Anyways those of you that properly stalk me on facebook probably know what I've been up to but just in case here's a summary of the past almost-year.  Mainly being

YOU ARE SO BUSY!!! Geez!! I thought I did a lot of shows!!

I cannot believe that Squeak's is getting married! I will have to come down to San Diego and visit when you are in town! Unless you'll be in LA for part of it- I'm in Simi Valley. :)

I will definitely be in LA! Well Fullerton until the wedding, but I have a bunch of friends in the LA area I'm hoping to visit the week after the wedding. Going to try to get down to SD too. I'd love to meet up with you at some point :-)!

It is kind of funny to me to read where you use moving lights. I guess I have been spoiled by Vegas where it is rare to have a show WITHOUT moving lights. I don't even like VL1000s because they are a pain in the ass to hang: ballast, unit (that takes two people because it is so awkward to get out of its case), and then fighting with the clips on the cover so the light doesn't jam itself. Some moving lights I'm now refusing to work with because they are pathetic. Well, just one right now, because I had a job where they used a 250w Studio Color wash unit IN AN ARENA! It was just pathetic looking.
Although I have to say, I'm quite jealous that you are doing so much theater...I miss lighting stuff with a purpose, and more than "flash and trash".

Anyway, hopefully 2009 keeps you just as busy and happy!

Haha. Yea VL1000s are exciting when most of the inventory is still altmans ;-)

But, yes, it is nice to do a lot of theatre that is good in and of itself, and not just pure visual stimulation
