Moderator Reminder About Blood Stuff

Jan 28, 2010 09:31

This probably needs putting in the rules, because there's been some confusion before, but...!

Just in case there is confusion (I'm sure there isn't, but this is just to get everyone on the same page), the blood the barge produces tastes exactly like human would. There's meant to, literally, be no difference able to be detected (so, if you've been existing on substitutes, it's probably an improvement, if anything). Why? Because we want to create a sense of ambiguity about how it might possibly actually be so. :) Because, who really knows what the Admiral gets up to, right? Or maybe, like in Selene's world, it's cloned.

The bottom line of it is, there's absolutely zero difference. :)

On the other hand! If you write for a vampiric character who, for whatever reason, needs to draw it out of a living body, then maybe that sensation would be missing, but the stuff should still physically taste the same.

Also, for some reason, it just kind of appears out of thin air on demand in a bottle/glass or whatever, when in the dining hall, as opposed to the normal 'human' food, which is served up. Don't remember why, but that's how it's been from the start, just so you all know. :) So, if anyone did want to put stuff in it, they'd have to somehow distract the drinker for a moment, because it's not known to be stored anywhere.

However!

If people want any of the above changed, then just let us know. If there's enough demand for certain things to be changed on the ship (no matter what it is), then the moderating team can meet and discuss whatever it is. If something ever is changed, then we'd have the Admiral go and make an announcement to that effect.
