Viserys had lived (if one could call it living) in Braavos, Myr, Tyrosh, Qohor, Volantis, and Lys, to say nothing of his homeland, the Seven Kingdoms, Westeros.

He had never seen anything like this.

The buildings were too tall, and there were too many of them, crowding on all sides, choking like vines. And the people. The people were strange, with cloying odors and bizarre clothing. To say nothing of the demons speeding down the odd black roads! When he took a closer look, he saw that the demons had people inside of them! People.

He thought about praying to the Seven, but what did the Seven care? He thought of the old Valyrian gods the Targaryens had so readily cast aside in the name of conquest. When he reclaimed the Iron Throne, he would remember the Valyrian gods.

When Arya grabbed his wrist, he whirled around. "Oh, it's you." He didn't sound relieved, but he looked it. "This must be one of the seven hells. Did you see the demons?"

"The ones on the black paths?" She nodded, and rose on her toes to crane her head about, looking for another. "Sometimes they sit so still, though. It doesn't look like they breathe. Do you think we could climb on one?" Maybe that was dangerous, but she'd seen people get into them, and they hadn't seemed scared - she'd even seen people crawl out of the shiny monsters.

This city wasn't sitting well with Jon. He'd never been to one of the larger cities in Westeros, though he was sure that none of them were this large. Nor full of this many foreign things. He was starting to get using to some of it, on the Barge, with the communicators and the washing devices and the phrases and words that he didn't understand.

The French all around him was particularly not helping with his utter confusion at all of this.

But his Inmate and his sister were out there. One of them was directly his responsibility and the other was... Arya, for lack of a better word to describe them.

"Climb on what?" Jon caught the tail end of what she was talking about and she sounded like Bran, actually.

"The demons," Viserys explained, actually glad to see the bastard, because surely he wouldn't let his lunatic sister climb on demons. "The demons on the roads. Why anyone would want to climb demons is beyond me."
