Viserys had lived (if one could call it living) in Braavos, Myr, Tyrosh, Qohor, Volantis, and Lys, to say nothing of his homeland, the Seven Kingdoms, Westeros.

He had never seen anything like this.

The buildings were too tall, and there were too many of them, crowding on all sides, choking like vines. And the people. The people were strange, with cloying odors and bizarre clothing. To say nothing of the demons speeding down the odd black roads! When he took a closer look, he saw that the demons had people inside of them! People.

He thought about praying to the Seven, but what did the Seven care? He thought of the old Valyrian gods the Targaryens had so readily cast aside in the name of conquest. When he reclaimed the Iron Throne, he would remember the Valyrian gods.

When Arya grabbed his wrist, he whirled around. "Oh, it's you." He didn't sound relieved, but he looked it. "This must be one of the seven hells. Did you see the demons?"

"The ones on the black paths?" She nodded, and rose on her toes to crane her head about, looking for another. "Sometimes they sit so still, though. It doesn't look like they breathe. Do you think we could climb on one?" Maybe that was dangerous, but she'd seen people get into them, and they hadn't seemed scared - she'd even seen people crawl out of the shiny monsters.

This city wasn't sitting well with Jon. He'd never been to one of the larger cities in Westeros, though he was sure that none of them were this large. Nor full of this many foreign things. He was starting to get using to some of it, on the Barge, with the communicators and the washing devices and the phrases and words that he didn't understand.

The French all around him was particularly not helping with his utter confusion at all of this.

But his Inmate and his sister were out there. One of them was directly his responsibility and the other was... Arya, for lack of a better word to describe them.

"Climb on what?" Jon caught the tail end of what she was talking about and she sounded like Bran, actually.

"The demons," Viserys explained, actually glad to see the bastard, because surely he wouldn't let his lunatic sister climb on demons. "The demons on the roads. Why anyone would want to climb demons is beyond me."

"They don't look dangerous," Arya said, and pointed toward the nearest parked car. "Look, that one just let its people out! I bet it would let me out, too." She was glad Jon had shown up - Viserys could be annoying when he got stubborn. "Do you know what they are, Jon?"

"I do not," Jon answered, staring at whatever it was for a few moments before glancing back at her. "Which I think is even more reason to not climb on them."

Viserys walked up to the nearest parked car, leaned close, and frowned into the back side window. A shadowy version of his own face frowned back at him. He immediately took several steps back.

When Viserys jumped away, Arya darted in, ignoring Jon's advice. When she saw her face against the car window, she froze, then allowed herself a smile. "It's only a reflection!" And she looked all kinds of bad, but that's what happens when you don't bath more than once a month. She turned back to Jon. "Lift me up." She wanted to look at things from on top it.

Jon gave her a look like maybe she was a little crazy and oh yeah, that's right, she was. "Arya. That is someone else's property." Which should be enough reason to not climb on it. So you can forget getting a helping hand up from him. "There are other strange things here to look at that you don't have to climb on."

"I wonder if they have dragons." Viserys craned his neck and looked up toward the sky. But who the could see the sky with all those buildings? Perhaps the dragons lived in them, and that was why they reached the sky. It made sense. They could have nests for their young in the ones that were too small for the adults. All he needed was one egg. Two would be best for mating purposes, but one dragon could win him the Iron Throne.

She was debating kicking the demon or Jon when Viserys brought up dragons. All thoughts of angry sulking were abandoned as she craned her neck back, squinting up at the sky. Immediately, she reached for Jon's arm and tugged. "Some of these towers are high as Harrenhal," she whispered, and worried her lip between her teeth.

Abruptly, she let go if his arm, stopped her biting, and pointed to the tallest building she could spot. "We should go to the top."

"Yes," Viserys quickly agreed. He didn't know how to get to the top, these people were strange and smelled, there were demons that seemed to carry people around and then let them out again. But the top was the most likely place to find dragons, if there were dragons to be found.

He needed a dragon. With a dragon, he could fly off the Barge and find his way back to Westeros. He could take back what was his. Without so much as a look to Jon, he boldly started to march toward the road. The demons seemed to come in spurts; he'd make a run for it when the demons rested.
