Merlin had been inspecting the garden while this had been happening (read: looking for potions ingredients that he might be able to 'borrow') and there was something ever so slightly odd in the way that Summer seemingly abandoned one path for another. But he didn't think much of it. It wasn't unheard of for him to realise halfway through any given expedition that he'd forgotten something.
Still, he gave Summer a smile and a wave as she walked in his direction. Never killed anyone to be friendly.

Summer hadn't been expecting somebody else int he garden, but then again, being the only green space that wasn't the CES, it made sense. And besides, at least he wasn't anyone she was trying to avoid. Summer gave him a slight smile in return and a casual, "Hey." That was about it, though. She had a way of coming across as stand-offish if she didn't have something in particular she wanted to talk to someone about. Not that she wouldn't chat if Merlin said anything.
It had nothing to do with anything except the small golden thing jumping up and down in his arms. Occasionally the creature would grin at him and he'd grin back and ignore every voice in his head that sounded like Lora that was saying he was avoiding the issues that people had brought up.
Avoiding was okay. Besides, Atari was adorable. Except that he was also rather rambunctious-which is why he heads straight for Summer barking and wagging all the while.
Summer blinked and looked over her shoulder. The barking was... weird. She hadn't expected there to be any animals here. Sure, superheroes, space captains and wizards were apparently par for the course here, but pets? It was so normal that it seemed out of place on the Barge.
"Hey, you," she greeted the dog, crouching down to pet him. Or let him lick her face, which seemed to be inevitable.

"Summer, yeah? I saw your thing when you first arrived. Nice to meet you." He offered a hand.
