Who: Summer and Open
Where: Around the garden/greenhouse
When: Today
Warnings: Nope
The weirdest thing about the Barge-- weirder than the magician that wanted to kidnap her, the vampires, Captain Kirk and the whole "bigger on the inside" thing-- was the presence of the two Toms. Sure, Summer knew about "Barge twins" and everything. She knew they weren't really him. But all the same, it was just... eerie. Here she was, trying to get away from L.A. and all the baggage of a failed relationship, and it still followed her here.
She didn't know what was worse: seeing Tom walking around the Barge after she just broke up with him, or seeing Tom looking at her like she was a complete stranger.
Which, of course, she was. Because Arthur and Dr. Lewis weren't him; they were nothing like him. All the quirks and humor and kindness and hesitancy and flaws that made up Tom were missing in those men. Or maybe they weren't, but Summer didn't really want to get close enough to them to find out.
And so, whenever she saw one of the Toms, she made a beeline in the opposite direction. Smoothly, casually, like she totally wasn't avoiding them at all. It was just a big coincidence that their paths never crossed. Yup. And so, when she spotted one of them on the deck-- heading towards the warden-only areas just as she was-- Summer turned on her heel-- casual, casual, casual-- and strolled towards the green house and the gardens. It was really... lovely.
