"Hi!"

It was the only announcement Kaylee needed; she'd been intended to come in and see to the tree, and with the promise of Tony and Mister Dent coming, she hadn't expected a whole new face to be there waiting. Seeing this, she practically bounced up to the boxes of decorations beside her.

"You must be new." She offered her hand with hardly a thought, all smiles. "Name's Kaylee Frye, and I'm pleased to meet you. May I help decorate?"

Tony headed down to help decorate the tree where he saw Kaylee, who he'd volunteered to help decorate the trees, and Tonks, who he spoke to in the journals and recognized from Harry Potter. However, he was going to try and avoid being too obvious about that, just as he wasn't going to mention the fact that he knew Kaylee was from Firefly. Some people, like Lestat, would like it, but he wanted to be careful with who he told was in what, since some would react badly. Tony knew that he'd be upset if there was a movie about his life, at least if it mentioned parts earlier than in the last few years.

"Hi, I'm Tony. We spoke in the journals," he said to Tonks, then, looking at Kaylee and remembering the one horrible port where they all died, added, "And we've met."

Picking up an ornament, he hung it on the tree, beginning to decorate.

"I think it's open for anyone to decorate. Besides, if you did it alone it would be more of a chore than fun."

Tonks was thrilled when Kaylee entered, hanging the second ornament on the branch just in time. She spun around and tripped over the nearest box, catching herself a couple hop-steps later. With an emphatic shake to Kaylee's hand, she nodded a few times too many and replied with an enthusiastic and overly british, "Happy Christmas! Yes, o' course. I'm Tonks and it's a real pleasure and yeah, I'm new. How could you tell? Is it the spirit? Am I being too friendly or Christmasy or whatever ( ... )
